David R. Jimenez was first appointed to the Board of Regents in 2014 and currently serves as a member of the Board’s Human Resources & Administration Committee and the Finance & Infrastructure Committee. Mr. Jimenez is a Principal in the Hartford, Connecticut office of Jackson Lewis PC and serves as the firm’s National Co-Chair of the Corporate Governance & Internal Investigations Practice Group. In November of 2014, Mr. Jimenez was appointed by Governor Malloy to serve on the Connecticut Board of Regents which oversees the State of Connecticut’s seventeen universities and community colleges.
Mr. Jimenez represents domestic and international publicly traded corporations on various corporate governance matters including employee whistleblower litigation and internal investigations. Prior to joining Jackson Lewis, he was the vice president of employee relations and associate general counsel of The Hartford Insurance Group, a global multi-line insurance company. Mr. Jimenez is member of the Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Texas Bars. He also is a member of the American Bar Association, the National Hispanic Bar Association, and is a former member of the American Leadership Forum as well as the Inns of Court. He recently completed a two-year appointment as liaison to the ABA’s national Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession. He has been quoted by several news and legal publications including the Wall Street Journal, and was the subject of the Hartford Courant’s Five Questions segment in October of 2008.
He serves on The Hartford Stage Board of Directors and serves as the chairperson of the governance and nominations committee of the board and also serves as the corporate secretary. He is a Trustee of The Mark Twain House & Museum and serves on the Management Committee of the Board, and he is a past president and board member of The Hartford County Bar Foundation. Mr. Jimenez received his law degree from Hofstra University School of Law, and his bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Texas.
